Our first team had a very frustrating afternoon as we lost 3-2 away to Killen Rangers. It’s a game where we should have at least come away with a point, if not all three as we dominated the game for large periods. We came flying out of the blocks, forcing two early corners which we missed gilt edge chances from both, and we pegged Killen back but without making their keeper in to any meaningful saves. Sam Lindsay nearly broke the dead-lock but his shot was straight at the keeper, whilst Craig Johnston and Keelan Flanagan fired just wide when well placed. Killen then took the lead massively against the run of play when a deep cross was headed home at the back post. We were level shortly after when a Sam Lindsay volley was pushed up in to the air and Jamie Coalter reacted quickest to head home. However, despite our total domination we found ourselves 2-1 at the break when Killen scored a scrappy goal from a corner. At the start of the second half with missed several clear-cut chances before a long thrown in from Killen bounced awkwardly in front of Sam McDonald and the ball squirmed through his legs trickled over the line. Sam Lindsay did pull a goal back with a near finish from the edge of the box, but we couldn’t find the equaliser our performance deserved. This week we welcome Strathroy at Drumad.

Our reserve team had a close encounter with Killen Reserves with little between the sides. Killen came out as victors on the day with a narrow 1-0 win. Our 3rds had no game due to their opponents taking a free week.

This weekend the BKYL winter leagues get under way and our coaches have been preparing well over the past number of months for this. The U10s start with a home fixture v Enniskillen Athletic whilst the U12s have a derby game away to Lisnaskea Rovers, U10 games kick off at 10am and the U12 11am and we wish all the mini law and coaches the best of luck this season.

This week’s lotto results – numbers drawn were 11, 12, 25 and 28 with no winners. Hot-picks went to Pearl Moutray, Robert Allen and Ivy Cowan, next week’s jackpot stands at £5650.
